Gravaa’s New Wheelsets Let You Adjust Tire Pressure on the Fly
Gravel riding requires a lot of compromise when it comes to tire pressure as a gravel race might encompass mountain-bike like off-roading, loose sand and well-maintained pavement in a single race. Gravaa might have a solution as its new gravel-specific wheelset lets you adjust tire pressure during a ride, without getting off your bike.
The lightweight wheels are composed of carbon rims mated to a specialized hub, in which a miniature high-pressure pump is stored. This pump is driven by the rotation of the wheels. Via an integrated clutch unit and electro-pneumatic wireless control system the pump os activated on demand. Tire pressure is operated wirelessly from the handlebars and pressure can be displayed on most any modern cycling computer.
Cool new tech doesn’t come cheap, the GX-30 wheelset is available for pre-order now at ~$2,600 USD.
