This Is What a "Curated" Complete Bike Looks Like

A quick look at the Wilde Blaise build. It’s a rare $3,500 complete bike that feels personally curated, with parts from GRX, Nitto, and Brooks.

This Is What a "Curated" Complete Bike Looks Like

It’s rare to find an out-of-the-box complete bike, especially from a small US-based brand like Wilde, that feels so... personally curated. Most "completes" under $4k are a game of compromises, where you know you'll be swapping the saddle or cockpit almost immediately. The new Blaise build, built on their steel Rambler frame, feels like the antidote to that. It isn't just a collection of parts to hit a price point; it's a collection of choices.

When you see a spec list that includes a Brooks B17 saddle, a Nitto x Wilde Country Bar, and a full Velo Orange finishing kit, you know it's a bike built by people who actually ride. What's really telling are the tiny details: SimWorks cables, Blue Lug brass crank caps. These are the "if you know, you know" touches that most big brands would skip to save twelve dollars. It’s refreshing to see a $3,500 bike that you genuinely wouldn't need to upgrade. You could just buy it and ride it, happy, for a very long time.

Rambler - All-Arounder
The Rambler continues a fine tradition in cycling, the drop bar all-arounder. It’s capable of gravel centuries, quick road loops, light touring, b-roads, and of course daily life. The Rambler is a fully modern adaptation of the genre with disc brakes, thru axles and generous tire clearance. The world is vast and so are the possibilities, the Rambler invites you to fully explore them all. It has all the mounts a rider could want and geometry that is nimble while still being comfortable for long days in the saddle. As with all Wilde’s we prefer bikes with higher stack heights, as our philosophy is that comfortable is fast. Being a production bike, we are able to offer this promise at a more affordable price point through our partnership with Taiwan’s legendary Maxway factory. It comes in five sizes and is paired with our segmented steel fork. The steel fork does have a slightly longer axle to crown measurement than the Wayfinder which gives the bike a bit higher trail number and a slightly elevated bottom bracket height, both are bonuses when it comes to riding more challenging off-road terrain or pairing with 650b size wheels. Speaking of 650b, the X-Small size was specifically designed for 650b’s which we feel is a much more appropriate wheel standard for a frame of this size and allows us to design a smaller bike with with zero handling compromises or toe overlap. It also fits a tire up to 2.4″. Designers NotesThe Rambler continues a lineage that started with the Space Horse and Space Horse Disc. I believe that even if you have a different bike for every purpose, you’ll still want to have one bike that can truly do it all. The Rambler has all the relevant mounts and features, paired with contemporary gravel geometry and a comfortable high stack riding position, to take you wherever you want to go. My own Rambler is built with 650b wheels and a vintage eight speed triple drivetrain and I use it for long mixed terrain rides, touring, and quite often light singletrack in the Minnesota River Bottoms and local bootleg trails. It’s never let me down and seldom felt like the wrong choice. - JeffFRAME Tire clearance 700c X 50mm or 650b X 2.3″ Three pack mounts on top and bottom of down tube, bottle boss on seat tube Top tube feedbag mount Fender mounts Rack mounts Compatible with 2x and 1x drivetrains Frame weight: 5lbs (medium) STEEL FORK Fender mounts Double eyelet fork end Three-pack mounts with center braze-on doubling as a mid-blade mount Internal dynamo routing Mounts for Surly 8 and 24-pack racks Version 1, the new Version 2 does not work Tire clearance 700c X 50mm or 650b X 2.3″ GEOMETRYGravel geo with all-day comfort in mind.
