Vittoria Gravel Endurance Goes Big—But Your Rims Need to Keep Up

Vittoria's Gravel Endurance line now goes to 50c and 55c—sizes that match 29×2.0" and 29×2.25" mountain tires. The difference: these aren't repurposed XC rubber. The Terreno T10, T50, T70, and T30 use gravel-specific casings (100 TPI nylon, reinforced sidewalls, anti-puncture belt, bead reinforcement for low-pressure stability) and Vittoria's Endurance Graphene compound. For riders pushing into rougher mixed terrain or bikepacking routes where a 40c tire starts feeling sketchy, that means better flat protection and sidewall durability without the weight penalty of a true mountain casing.

The practical upside for time-crunched riders: one wheelset that handles everything from fast gravel roads to legitimate singletrack detours. Run 55c T70s at 25 psi and you've got real suspension for washboard and rock gardens without swapping bikes. The tradeoff is rim compatibility—these tires need wide internal-width rims (25mm+) to seat properly and avoid squirm, and not every gravel wheelset qualifies. Also worth noting: Vittoria's lighter Gravel Race casing isn't available in these sizes yet, so weight-obsessed racers will wait. For everyone else building a do-it-all gravel rig, this fills a gap the XC tire aisle never quite covered.
