Bozeman, Montana’s Carl Strong and his company Strong Frames have been making bike frames for more than two decades. Strong has turned out about 3,500 frames over the years, the latest was for BMC’s Tejay van Garderen who just finished second overall in the Tour of California.
Carl Strong’s business started in Grandma’s Garage back in 1983 and Strong Frames was Tejay van Garderen‘s first bike sponsor.
Tejay requested a bike that was truly his for his 5th wedding anniversary, so his wife reached out to Carl to make this Custom Blend titanium gravel bike. The frame was designed and built with thru-axles, flat mount brakes, internal brake routing and paint work by Oliver at Dark Matter Finishing. The complete bike was built up with Shimano Dura Ace 9170, ENVE 4.5AR wheels, Chris King hubs and headset, and a 3T cockpit and ENVE GRD fork.
