Stevens Super Prestige Drops 12% Frame Weight, Adds €600 to the Frameset

Stevens just shaved 12% off the Super Prestige frame — down to 995g — and knocked nearly a fifth of the weight off the fork. For a bike you're hauling up runups multiple times per race, that math matters more than any aero claim ever will.

The geometry shift is subtle but deliberate. Most sizes get a half-degree slacker head angle with 5mm more headtube, while reach grows 5–15mm on larger frames. Stevens is chasing more consistent stack-to-reach ratios across the size run, which should help taller riders find a position that doesn't require a stem swap on day one. Chainstay length and BB drop stay put — they're keeping the twitchy handling that's won 18 world championships, just stretching the cockpit a bit.

That reshaped top tube deserves attention if you actually race. Stevens flattened it and added more slope from the midpoint, specifically to make shouldering smoother. Anyone who's fumbled a transition in a Belgian sandpit knows how much a bad shoulder position costs. Whether this actually feels better mid-race or just looks good in press photos is the open question.

Pricing tells an interesting story. The frameset jumped 25% to €2,500, but complete bikes dropped — the Ultegra Di2 build is a couple hundred euros less than the 2022 version, and the Rival AXS spec is €600 cheaper than the old Force build. Stevens is clearly betting riders want turnkey race bikes, not project frames. The Rival build at 8.0kg with DT Swiss E1800 wheels and Schwalbe X-One tires is the volume play here. If you're a dad fitting CX races between soccer games and you don't want to chase down parts, that's your entry point.

One constraint: electronic shifting only. No cable routing provision, so your trusty mechanical gruppo stays in the parts bin. If you're budget-conscious or just hate charging things, the Super Prestige isn't interested in your business. That's a real limiter for anyone building up the frameset with existing parts. The bike also tops out at 42mm tire clearance officially — fine for UCI racing, but this isn't pulling double duty as a gravel bike. It's a pure cross racer, priced and specced for people who actually pin on numbers.
