Ritchey's New Switch System is a Practical Answer to Integrated Cockpits
Ritchey introduces the new Switch System, a practical solution for integrated cable routing with a compatible stem, headset, and spacers for a clean cockpit.

The push for fully integrated cable routing has transformed the look of modern bicycles, offering sleek aesthetics and aerodynamic advantages. However, this trend has often come at the cost of complex maintenance and proprietary parts. True to its "Built from life" philosophy, Ritchey has now introduced its solution: the new Ritchey Switch System, a cleverly designed and practical approach to achieving a clean, integrated cockpit without the associated headaches.
The Switch System is an ecosystem of components engineered to conceal internally routed cables, wires, and hydraulic lines as they travel from the handlebar into the frame. Designed for frames with standard 44mm or 1.5” headtubes and tapered 1−1/8”–1.5” forks, it provides a versatile solution for riders and builders seeking a high-end look on a wide range of bikes. The system is comprised of three core elements that work in harmony: the Switch Stem, Switch Headset Spacers, and the Switch Headset.

The Components: A Breakdown
At the heart of the system is the Switch Stem, which is offered in three distinct tiers to meet different performance and budget needs: WCS, Comp, and RL1. The premium WCS Switch Stem offers a completely stealth look, routing up to three cables inside the stem body itself. The more accessible Comp and RL1 models feature a unique enclosed channel on the underside of the stem, neatly housing up to four cables. All three stems are available in lengths from 60-120mm with an 84∘ angle.
Supporting the stem are the interlocking Switch Headset Spacers, which seamlessly guide the cables toward the headtube. Their intelligent design allows for easy installation or removal for stack height adjustments without the need to disconnect any lines. Finally, the Switch Headset completes the system. Its innovative one-piece top cap and compression ring design is the key to its functionality, allowing cables to pass through into the frame without compromising steering performance or long-term bearing durability.
For riders who value both form and function, the Ritchey Switch System offers a thoughtfully engineered pathway to a clean, modern, and—most importantly—serviceable bicycle cockpit.
