Zwift Finally Added Levels Beyond 25

Zwift Finally Added Levels Beyond 25

I’ve been sitting at level 25 in Zwift for about a year now, slowly gaining experience with which nothing can be done. The wait has ended!  Zwift  just released an update which includes an expansion to level 50.

Level 26-50 Unlocks & Level Requirements

Unlocks for these new levels are all “soft” unlocks. That means no new bikes or wheels. Instead, you will unlock jerseys, socks, shoes, helmets, glasses, etc. With the Zwift Virtual Store launching soon (where bikes and wheels can be purchased using Zwift’s virtual currency called “Dropz”) this isn’t surprising.

The level 50 requirement is 500,000 XP (the current highest level 25 is 110,000). That’s a big jump.

Points are  added for every km (20 XP) or mile (30 XP) you ride. Which means that since a kilometer is equal to .621 miles, you  actually  accumulate XP slightly faster if you ride in metric units. (100km=2,000 XP, while 62.13 miles=1864 XP.)

Accelerated Leveling

Many Zwifters, myself included, are already at level 25 and have continued to accumulate  XP.  Zwift’s solution is to allow for  accelerated leveling. Accelerated leveling allows you to accumulate XP 8x faster. By choosing the “Bring on the Levels” option in Zwift your XP is reset to 110,000 (level 25), but each km you ride gains you 160 XP (each mile is 240 XP) instead of 20/30. Accelerated leveling continues until you reach whatever level your XP would have taken you before the update.
