To use the product, you first brush off any gunky debris from your chainring, cassette, and derailleur pulleys. Then, apply a single drop of the solution onto each roller of the chain. After letting it sit for 5 minutes, apply one more drop to each roller and wait for another 5 minutes. Rinse it off with a hose, and then apply a drip-on lube like Silca’s Secret Chain Lube. This product is designed to be compatible with other drip-on wax-based lubes as well, giving you the flexibility of choice.
Silca’s Ultimate Chain Stripper and Wax Prep is currently available in the USA, with Europe to follow soon. For $36/44€, you can get a small 4oz/118ml bottle of the product bundled with Silca’s Super Secret Chain Lube, enough to clean around 4 chains. Alternatively, you can opt for a larger 16oz/473ml bottle for the same price, suited for cleaning and prepping more than a dozen chains.
