Cyclists have long faced a dilemma: how to enjoy audio and communication on a ride without compromising safety. Noise-canceling earbuds block out crucial traffic sounds, while portable speakers can disrupt the experience for others. Helmet manufacturer Lazer is tackling this challenge head-on with the introduction of the VeloVox, a sophisticated, hands-free audio and group communication system designed specifically for cyclists.
The Lazer VeloVox utilizes an open-ear design, clipping discreetly onto a helmet's straps to deliver crisp audio without obstructing the rider's ears. This allows for full situational awareness, ensuring cyclists can hear traffic, trail hazards, and fellow riders. Developed in partnership with Cardo Systems, a world leader in wireless communication technology, VeloVox enables seamless group communication for up to 30 riders. It also provides high-quality playback for music and podcasts, as well as phone call integration, all enhanced by an advanced wind and noise-canceling microphone system.

To further improve safety and convenience, Lazer has integrated VeloVox with select Shimano technologies. Riders with Shimano Di2 shifters or STEPS e-bike systems can control the device's functions without ever taking their hands off the handlebars. Each lightweight unit (19 grams per side) features a simple two-button interface, with the left side dedicated to communication and the right to audio control. With up to 11 hours of battery life and a water-resistant design, the VeloVox is built to handle long days in the saddle, revolutionizing how cyclists stay connected and entertained on the move.
