Enroll in Zwift Academy Tri and You Might Get a Shot at the Ironman World Championships in Kona
Zwift Academy gives pro tour cycling hopefuls the opportunity to show their skills and move to the big stage. Now, Zwift is giving triathletes a shot.
The Zwift Academy Tri program kicks off on November 11th and will run until January 12, 2020. Enrollment is open now. The virtual portion will include in-game rides, runs, groups rides and races. For cycling, there will be six structured workouts and one time trial. For running, there will be four running workouts and one race with 5k, 8k and 10k options. If you complete all the portions of the program by January 12th, you will be entered into the pool of people eligible for the next step. From there, Zwift will choose six athletes who will be supported through the year as they attempt to qualify for and race Kona.
In 2019, the Zwift Academy Tri had a 100% success rate. Every single one of their selected athletes qualified for Kona. If you make it to the big show you can be sure you’ll be well outfitter with gear from Specialized, Wahoo, Roka, and Science in Sport.
