Apidura's 2026 Expedition Series: Built-In GPS Mounts and Anti-Bulge Zippers
Apidura's redesigned Expedition Series ditches clamps for a handlebar system with built-in GPS mounts. Frame and saddle packs get anti-bulge upgrades.

Apidura redesigned its Expedition Series—the first major update since 2016—and the most interesting change isn't the waterproofing or durability claims. It's the handlebar system that ditches clamps for BarSpace Modules, which push the bag forward and use tension straps to keep it stable. That setup includes built-in mounts for GPS computers and accessories (Garmin, Wahoo, GoPro-style feet), so you're not fighting for real estate on your bars. The 9L version weighs 436g and costs $228; the 14L is 448g at a higher price. You can add optional mesh or roll-top packs up front, both with shoulder straps if you want to carry them off the bike.

Here's the catch: I haven't put miles on this yet, so I can't verify how well those stability cords actually work when the bag's loaded and you're on rough terrain. The frame packs now have zipper control rails to stop bulging under load, which matters if you've ever had a pack sag into your knees mid-ride. Saddle packs get a silicone grip channel and a Hypalon cradle to compress contents toward the base—useful if you're tired of tail wag. Full range is 20 products, $25 to $261, with pre-orders live now and shipping mid-April. If you're comparing, Miss Grape and Tailfin sit in the $218–345 range for similar handlebar setups.
