An Industry-Wide E-Bike Battery Recycling Program is Coming

E-bike sales are booming which is AWESOME. As that trend continues, it means there will be more and more ageing batteries in the future. E-bike batteries aren’t the most environmentally friendly thing to produce and are fairly nasty to handle at end of life, even if riding an e-bike is worlds better for the environment than driving a car.

To deal with all those batteries in a more environmentally friendly and safe way, People for Bikes has designed a program to get batteries recycled. A number of bike brands have signed on to pay into a fund that covers the cost of battery recycling. The process for the consumer is simple, you buy a bike, you enjoy it and when the battery is done, you turn it in for recycling.
