Allen's new Smart Suction Go is a one-bike rack that clamps onto your car with suction cups and tells your phone whether it's still attached. It costs $299, weighs less than a traditional hitch rack, and fits bikes up to 35 pounds. The pitch is simple: if you don't have a hitch, hate roof bars, or move between vehicles, this might work.
Here's what matters. The rack uses four suction cups—three up front on a fork-mount assembly, one stabilizing the rear wheel. Each cup has a Bluetooth pressure sensor that talks to an app. If suction drops, you get an alert via Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. That's genuinely useful if you've ever white-knuckled it on the highway wondering if your bike is about to fly off. The fork mount accepts 9 mm QR, 12 mm, and 15 mm thru-axles (100 mm and 110 mm spacing), so it covers most road and gravel setups.
The catch: 35 pounds is tight. A carbon road bike with pedals and cages? Fine. An endurance bike with fenders, a frame bag, and a second bottle cage? You're pushing it. A gravel bike with anything resembling bikepacking gear? Forget it. Allen doesn't specify whether that limit is structural (cup strength) or app-calibrated, so I can't tell you if exceeding it by two pounds voids the monitoring or just the warranty.

Just don't assume "compact" means it disappears—it's still a fork mount with four suction assemblies. And if your bike is over 30 pounds or you live somewhere with serious temperature swings, I'd wait for long-term field reports before trusting it on a road trip.
