Experience Points (XP) are the currency of progression. While distance is the foundation, Zwift offers many ways to boost your earnings. This section breaks down every method, from consistent streaks to strategic in-game actions, helping you level up faster.
🚴 Distance (Indoor)
The fundamental way to earn. Rates are now balanced between metric and imperial.
20 XP/km or 32 XP/mi
🗓️ Weekly Streak
Ride at least once a week. The bonus for your first indoor ride increases with your streak.
300, 400, or 500 XP
☀️ Outdoor Rides
Link a Garmin/Wahoo account to earn XP outside and maintain your weekly streak.
5 XP/km
⭐ PowerUp Bonus
Obtained randomly at banners. The "Large Bonus" is a huge instant boost.
+10 or +250 XP
⏱️ TT Bike Advantage
Riding a Time Trial bike gives a consistent bonus at every banner instead of random PowerUps.
+10 XP per banner
🏁 Route Badges
A huge, one-time bonus for completing any of Zwift's routes for the first time.

💪 Workout Mode
Earns XP based on time and interval completion, not distance. Very efficient.
