Zwift 'Ride Like King' Event Returns for 2020

Zwift 'Ride Like King' Event Returns for 2020

Ride Like King is a celebration of all things cycling! Giant and Liv Cycling host this pedal party every year. Since their inaugural event in 2009, it’s gotten bigger, better, and more fun.

This year, Ride Like King is leveling up again by helping get bikes to those who need them with the help of World Bike Relief.

First some more details on the event, now in its 12th year. Ride Like King started in 2009 as a small event within the Giant Group family to celebrate company founder King Liu’s passion for cycling. In 2007, at age 73, King prepared for and completed a 15-day, 927km ride around Taiwan. That ride sparked a renewed interest in King’s own cycling lifestyle and the benefits that cycling can have on health and fitness.

Ride Like King is partnering with Zwift for the third year in a row to bring this experience to the next level. Zwifters of all levels are welcome to participate in the adventure, riding alongside pros from CCC Team, CCC-Liv, Giant, and Liv racers, along with ambassadors, retailers, and staff from around the globe. For each 1,200 km completed during these events, Giant Group will donate a Buffalo bike to a rider in need via World Bicycle Relief. You can also make a donation at https://give.worldbicyclerelief.org/fundraiser/2812908

We’re keeping track of the total distance Zwifters cover during the four Ride Like King events.

The more you ride, the more good you do!

ABOUT WORLD BICYCLE RELIEF

World Bicycle Relief was founded in 2005 by F.K. Day and Leah Missbach Day in response to the Indian Ocean tsunami. As a founder of SRAM Corporation and a leader in product development, F.K.’s role offered a unique opportunity to problem-solve with cycling industry leaders. As a documentary photographer, Leah’s gift for sharing stories helped bring the devastation of those affected by the tsunami to light. Together, with support from SRAM and other industry leaders, F.K. and Leah launched World Bicycle Relief to provide bicycles for those in need. In partnership with aid organizations in Sri Lanka, World Bicycle Relief distributed more than 24,000 bicycles to displaced survivors, providing access to education, healthcare, and livelihoods while reconnecting entire communities. Nearly 15 years later, more than 150 staff across 13 countries are changing lives with bikes. For more info, visit https://worldbicyclerelief.org/
