What a nightmare this is. A race that’s announce three days ahead of time when a storm is forecast and is cancelled if the headwind isn’t blowing at at least 50-60 kph.

The 8.5 km course must be covered on a supplied upright single-speed, Dutch-style bike.  The inaugural race was won by Olympic mountain biker Bart Brentjens with a time of 17 minutes and 51 seconds, still the course record.
