The 105th edition of the Tour de France had ended. Geraint Thomas’ (Team Sky) speech from atop the podium on the Champs-Elysées was a bit of a disaster. He stumbled through and didn’t seem to have the words to explain what it meant to him to be the Tour de France champion. But the funniest part was when the Welshman began thanking his teammates, but couldn’t remember who they were. Froome, and then Dumoulin, who flanked him on the podium, were needed to remind him who he was forgetting.

Who can’t forgive the guy for the stumble? He’s a cyclist, not necessarily a public speaker and names tend to escape us under pressure. Coming from Team Sky, which has a reputation for being robotic and calculated all aspects, it was a breath of fresh air.
