The Bonneville Salt Flats have become synonymous with super-speed and high-speed records, but it wasn’t always that way. Ab Jenkins put the salty dried up lake on the map by building fast contraptions in order to break and re-break land speed records.

Jenkins was a superhero of his time, but has since been mostly forgotten. A new film, The Boys of Bonneville: Racing on a Ribbon of Salt looks to change that, it follows his son Marv as he rebuilds the 12-cylinder “Mormon Meteor” for one more shot at the Bonneville Salt Flats.
