Simon Rogers, a data journalist and data editor at Google, created an interesting series of maps showing the regional popularity of different kinds of restaurants.
A few quick takes:
- Here in Colorado we’ll eat pretty much anything, other than seafood (geographics make sense here).
- South Dakota apparently prefers not to eat.
- The pizza preference map seems to closely resemble cultural diversity maps.
- Apparently people in Wallace county, Kansas really like seafood. It’s about as far from the sea as one can get, but I guess I wouldn’t expect rational behavior from a county that went 90% for Trump.
