The award-winning Lumos Bike Helmet ($199) is finally widely available for purchase. The helmet has integrated brake lights and turn signals that are controlled with wireless controls that are mounted on the handlebar. It’s an ingenious way to let drivers and other cyclists know where you’re going, without having to take your hands off the handlebars. You simply push the button before you turn, and the helmet lights up to let everyone know where you’re going, and if you slow down, a built-in sensor will turn on the brake light. Lumos also features white lights on the front of the helmet to help increase visibility. The battery in the helmet lasts six hours in flashing mode and three in solid mode and it recharges in two hours via the included magnetic charging cable.
