How to Make Rope

We learned to make rope using essentially the same method (on a much smaller scale) in scouts when I was a kid. Turning weak, brittle twine into a strong length of rope seemed like magic. Pretty cool to see products made using methods that haven’t changed in a century.

While we’re on the subject. This video on the traditional way of making bark rope or Lime Bast Rope is incredible. It includes soaking it in water for 4 months.
