Amazon Looking to Pay $1 Billion to Adapt Sci-fi Novel The Three-Body Problem

The Hugo-winning Chinese novel The Three-Body Problem was one of my favorite reads last year (along with the rest of the trilogy). Now it looks set to become Amazon’s Game of Thrones.

A report from Financial Times suggests Amazon is pursuing a deal to make a three-season television show based on the trilogy from Liu Cixin. Oh, and Amazon may be willing to pay up to $1 billion to do so.

The novel is one of the most-successful scifi books in China’s history, and an English translation by Ken Liu won the Hugo Award for Best Novel in 2015. The trilogy is excellent and I highly recommend you pick it up if you haven’t already. I’m hopeful that this project comes to fruition!
